Asthma Foundation ACT
Show Pony Events were selected though a competitive tender process to develop, implement and event manage the Asthma Foundation ACT's (AFACT) major fundraiser for the year, the inaugural Canberra's Longest Lunch. Until the engagement of Show Pony the event had been merely a concept for a number of years, not pursued due to the requirement of high level organisation, coordination (and associated risk) and necessary level of stakeholder engagement—each with complex and varying needs.
From the initial inception meeting, the Show Pony team were professional, creative and receptive of AFACT's requirements. They took initiative, developed appropriate planning documentation and strategised with AFACT to ensure fundraising targets were met.
During the event design stage, Show Pony's staff showed a comprehensive understanding of the legal and legislative requirements to host such an event, and ensured appropriate strategies and planning approvals were required to mitigate and address requirements. They successfully engaged and managed all key stakeholders including the ACT Government, sponsors, restaurant owners, hire companies and Marist College Canberra students and teachers.
Show Pony included AFACT in all major decision making and represented AFACT in a professional, collegial manner with a focus on addressing sponsors and supporter's requirements as well as AFACTs. The Show Pony team were extremely professional and competent always presenting comprehensive briefs and were exceptional at maintaining timelines for all deliverables pertaining to our event. They made themselves available for planning meetings, meetings with stakeholders and to assist with any enquiry we sent their way. Nothing was ever too difficult for the Show Pony team to assist with, even if it was out of scope of the statement of works.
I was constantly pleasantly surprised by the Show Pony team's ability to overcome any hurdle, barrier or challenge that occurred during the development and execution of the event, and to do so in a way that created mutually beneficial outcomes for AFACT and event stakeholders.
The event was a roaring success on the day. The Show Pony team engaged with five different restaurants/bars to ensure a delicious 5 course meal was presented on the day, in a degustation style with each restaurant providing one course to each of the guests. The precision, organisation and stakeholder engagement level required to ensure things ran smoothly was a massive task.
The event was enjoyed by all guests, created media publicity and resulted in the event raising more than the initial fundraising target.
I have no doubt the success of the event was due to Show Pony's ability and experience in working collaboratively with stakeholders, their ability to constantly problem solve and generate appropriate solutions and their attention to detail and planning.
I would absolutely recommend Show Pony events for any event management roles, and will be engaging them again for any fundraising events that are held at the Asthma Foundation ACT.

Efficient and effective event planning and management is the domain of very special people. In my opinion Jillian and her handpicked Show Pony Events team are the best in the region. Phenomenal communications (verbal and written), organizational skills and risk management skills underpin my ability to sleep well at night.
They are very clever at managing performers, spectators, participants, staff, complainers and misbehaviors, money and tills, animals extreme heat and extreme cold, toilets, AV, security and much more. Above all they are very good at managing our expectations.
Show Pony Events have organised large and complex events such as Skate in the City and Christmas in the City. Each runs for up to one month and has many stakeholders and multitudes of suppliers. Within the overarching main event are mini events such as VIP openings, special shows and special attractions. Show Pony Events have also organised VIP and launch events such as those associated with the Canberra Centenary Column and time capsule in early 2014.
I have no hesitation in recommending Show Pony Events as the preferred supplier of event management.

Show Pony Events was engaged was Carers Australia to undertake the national launch of Carers Week 2012. Ms Jillian Hart owner of Show Pony Events was the lead coordinator for the event.
SThe event was launched by the Patron of Carers Australia, her Excellency the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, Ms. Quentin Bryce, AC, CVO.
SMs Hart’s detail regarding the set up and coordination of the event was of excellent standard. Ms Hart advised carers Australia on how to conduct the event in the attendance of the Governor General, and she demonstrated her excellent knowledge of protocol.
SMs Hart is an excellent communicator who seeks to understand the needs of the client and provides a variety of options that may suit the clients needs. Ms Hart met with Carers Australia on a number of occasions in the lead up to the event to ensure that all issues and needs of the event were ‘covered off’.
SMs Hart was able to plan and implement the event to an extremely high standard and did so in a patient and diplomatic manner. All Staff at Show Pony Events were of a very high professional standard.
